Position Overview

The Fundraising Officer will serve as the primary strategic leader for all fundraising activities across the ERH. This key leadership role involves developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the growth and sustainability of ERH programs nationwide. The successful candidate will chair the National Fundraising Committee, working collaboratively with regional representatives to coordinate fundraising efforts across all regions while building relationships with corporate sponsors, grant-making organisations, and individual donors.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Planning

Develop and execute a comprehensive national fundraising strategy aligned with the association's mission and growth objectives

Set annual fundraising targets and create detailed action plans to achieve financial goals across all revenue streams

Conduct market research to identify emerging funding opportunities and assess the competitive landscape for sports-related fundraising

Prepare detailed fundraising reports and presentations for the board of directors and executive committee

Committee Management and Regional Coordination

Chair the National Fundraising Committee, providing leadership and direction to regional representatives

Facilitate regular committee meetings and maintain clear communication channels with all regional coordinators

Develop standardised fundraising tools, templates, and best practices for regional implementation

Coordinate cross-regional fundraising campaigns and ensure consistent messaging and branding

Corporate Partnerships and Sponsorship Development

Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors and business partners

Develop compelling sponsorship packages that align with corporate marketing objectives and association values

Negotiate sponsorship agreements and ensure all partnership obligations are fulfilled

Manage the corporate partnership database and track all sponsor interactions and commitments

Grant Writing and Institutional Funding

Research and identify foundation and government grant opportunities relevant to amateur sports development

Prepare and submit high-quality grant applications and proposals

Maintain relationships with program officers and foundation representatives

Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and reporting obligations

Financial Management and Reporting

Monitor fundraising budgets and expenditures to ensure cost-effective operations

Prepare regular financial reports on fundraising performance and return on investment

Work closely with the treasurer and finance committee to ensure proper fund allocation and accounting

Develop and implement policies for fund acceptance, processing, and acknowledgment

Marketing and Communications Support

Collaborate with marketing committee to develop fundraising-related communications and promotional materials

Maintain active presence on social media platforms to promote fundraising initiatives

Coordinate with public relations efforts to maximize visibility for fundraising campaigns

Ensure all fundraising materials align with association branding and messaging standards
